FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE NBHA RULE BOOK HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE A THREE MINUTE TIME LIMIT TO START YOUR RUN.  THIS WILL BE ENFORCED AT ALL NATIONAL SHOWS!!!!!

Important Las Vegas stalling information

1.     Wednesday-stall check in only. 10 am – 7 pm. Main arena WILL NOT be open.

2.     Thursday- stall check in and contestant registration 8am- 9pm

3.     Know your stall number(s) when you arrive. DO NOT get into the wrong stall. Your horse will be moved and you will be charged $50

4.     NBHA staff or security guards will direct you to the correct barn.

5.     Barns have double lanes. Use them.  This will expedite the unloading process.

6.     All stalls have 3 bags of shavings (even tack stalls).

7.     Extra stalls and tack stalls are available upon arrival

A note about the stall fees:
The $90 stall rental does not include shavings.  Shaving fees are separate and it is mandatory you purchase them for each stall rented.  So one stall equates to $120 for the weekend.  The $30 shaving fee equals three bales, which is very reasonable.  You must purchase shavings for each stall even if you are reserving it for a feed/tack room.  Like always additional shavings will be available for purchase from the Southpoint office.

Question: If I arrive after the check-in office closes, can I still get my horse into it's stall?  NOTE: STALL CHECK IN IS WEDS & THURS 10AM TO 7PM.

Answer: According to the NBHA National Show Office, if you arrive outside of the hours that the stall check-in office is open, you will run the risk of not being able to get to your stalls until the check-in office re-opens.  If you have a pre-assigned stall, there is a slim chance that if you arrive after hours, that you can find a security guard to take you to your stall (since you will have the pre-assigned stall number with you).  If you do not have a pre-assigned stall, you will not be able to get your horse into a stall until the show office opens.  You will have to wait in the parking lot until the show office opens to get a stall.

Question: How will stalls be assigned?  How can I make sure I am stalled with my travelling partner?

Answer: Stalls will be assigned by NBHA Headquarters.  If you want to be stalled with someone, send in your entries TOGETHER IN THE SAME ENVELOPE and write a note letting them know how you want to be stalled.   IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ONE PERSON PURCHASE ALL THE STALLS ON ONE ENTRY FORM FOR YOUR ENTIRE GROUP!

Question: How much shavings does the 30 charge pay for?  Can I bring my own Shavings?  How much do the cost for additional bags?

Answer: Three bags of shavings are provided for the $30.00 charge.  You may not bring your own shavings - this is a South Point policy and NBHA does not police this.  Additional shavings are available for $10.00 per bag.

Question: Will my District be stalled together?

Answer: Contact your District Director.

SECTION B: SHOW SANCTIONING

7. There will be three classes of competition as follows:
Open
Youth (18 years of age and under)
Senior (50 years of age and over)
Proof of age may be required at the discretion of Show Management.

a. NBHA sanctioned district shows must offer the three NBHA classes.

b. Show Management may allow eligible contestants to count their time in the Open class for the Youth or Senior class. A contestant wishing to so carry an Open time to Youth or Seniors must declare their intent at the time of entry. Any contestant carrying time must pay the applicable entry fee for the Youth or Senior class, and is eligible to win prize money and NBHA points just as if the time was run in the Youth or Senior class. If this is done, the three NBHA classes must be run consecutively. The pattern for the Open, Youth, and Senior must be exactly the same and must not be changed in any manner.
